Summer Work Crew for Girls with Oregon Tradeswomen, Inc.

Oregon Tradeswomen, Inc. is excited to offer a summer work crew for girls between 17 and 24 years old interested in careers in the construction industry. This paid seven week course prepares girls for the construction industry in a way designed specifically for girls of this age. During the seven weeks the girls will learn to frame by building garden sheds, practice basic life skills such as finance management and the job application process and learn about each trade through hands-on workshops. Additionally, each girl will participate in an OSHA 10-Hour Safety Class. Not only is this training free, the girls will be paid for their time. Free career counseling accompanies this program, and upon graduation each girl will be prepared to apply for jobs in the construction industry. Work crew begins August 17th and ends on September 30th, eight hours per day, three days per week (Tuesday - Thursday). This schedule best fits girls who are no longer attending high school.
