Volunteer Opportunity: Education Coordinator at Tryon Life Community Farm

 

TLC Farm has an opening for a committed volunteer (or two!) to coordinate the Hands-on Sustainability Education Program.

 

Responsibilities include: communicating with interested groups about field trips to TLC Farm scheduling field trips coordinating volunteer teachers to lead the trips outreach to schools/volunteers as needed

 

Benefits: helping with vitally important part of TLC Farm networking with environmentally focused schools and teachers from around the area building your organizing skills This will take about 5-8 hours a week, and can be done at TLC Farm or your home/office. We're looking for folks who can make at least a 6-month commitment. If you are interested, please contact [email protected].

 

About the Hands-on Sustainability Education Program: TLC Farm's Hands-on Sustainability Education program provides experiential education about sustainable agriculture and ecological living to youth and adults. TLC Farm staff and trained volunteers lead field trips and host events for for schools, individuals and organizations, and provide creative, hands-on educational experiences for all participants at the Farm's unique 7-acre site in SW Portland. Participants in our program have the opportunity to learn from volunteer teachers to grow organic food, build with natural materials, restore native ecosystems, create collaborative communities, and experience sustainable living.
