TITLE: Sustained Giving Liaison DEPARTMENT: Development EXEMPT/NONEXEMPT: Exempt

MAJOR PURPOSE: Responsible for coordinating sustained giving program, serving as a liaison to community members and supporters, donor stewardship, and some data entry.

CONTACT WITH OTHERS

INTERNALLY: With own departmental staff, development, finance and accounting, IT, all programs, distribution center, and senior management.

EXTERNALLY: With MPFS customers, vendors, and volunteers: including, MPFS board of directors and other senior volunteers. Frequent interaction with members of the public.

JOB CONDITIONS: Work may be performed seated for prolonged periods of time. Close PC and keyboard work. Public speaking requires travel and some periods of standing. Work in excess of 40 hours per week during peak business periods may be required.

Required Skills and Abilities:PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: 1.Work in partnership with Campaign Manager to develop, organize, and support a comprehensive campaign to build the Sustainer Circle. 2.Work with staff and volunteers to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward Monthly Sustainer Circle donors. 3.Become a knowledgeable advocate for MPFS and the work of ending local hunger. Engage donors in creative and active solutions. 4.Work with staff and volunteers to create, assemble, and distribute electronic and paper correspondence. 5.Assist in writing and assembling quarterly donor newsletters. 6.Prepare and analyze donor reports. 7.Oversee and organize donor recognition events. 8.Proactively build relationships with community members and donors, promptly respond to all donor communications. 9.Represent MPFS at community events and meetings. Speak publicly about MPFS’s mission and vision. 10.Utilize Raiser’s Edge database to maintain sustainer prospect and donor records. 11.Complete all tasks in a highly organized, timely and professional manner. 12.Exercises discretion and maintains confidentiality regarding all aspects of MPFS donors, partners, recipients, and staff. 13.Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:POSITION PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS: 1.Bachelor’s degree and three years of nonprofit fundraising experience or equivalent. 2.Familiarity and understanding of fundraising cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship best practices. 3.Experience and/or background with hunger, poverty and social service issues preferred. 4.Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to articulately present the MPFS case for support to diverse groups and individuals and motivate audiences to effective action. 5.Demonstrated experience using effective interpersonal skills, listening, diplomacy and tact to build strong relationships with donors, volunteers, and all levels of staff. 6.Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and standard non-Microsoft applications. Raiser’s Edge experience preferred. 7.Ability to work well under pressure and meet established deadlines, with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities; and, exercise sound judgment daily. 8.Ability to come in to work on time and on a daily basis. Ability to work flexible schedule for special events, including weekends and nights. 9.Must pass pre-employment drug and standard employment background screen. 10.Must possess valid Oregon driver’s license and auto insurance; and, maintain insurability under active MPFS provider. 11.Personal attributes of integrity, credibility, and a drive for accountable excellence, with a passionate commitment to Marion-Polk Food Share’s mission and philosophy. Must be able to accurately and passionately articulate MPFS’s mission to others.
