position summary:

This position provides fund raising support for the Vice President of Development, Director of Individual Giving, Director of Corporate Relations, and the division as outlined below, including, but not limited to the coordination of the division’s development operations, budgeting, accounting and special projects. He or she will be assisting the Vice President of Development and division management team with prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activity; scheduling appointments, making meeting arrangements, greeting guests and processing follow up activity; and preparing and assisting with reports, proposals, and presentation materials. The Development Assistant will also provide general administration support including but not limited to: writing and preparing correspondence, filing, telephone service, handling incoming and outgoing mail, managing and prioritizing flow of information/paperwork ; designing and implementing office systems to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the division’s operations; recording and disseminating meeting minutes; proofreading and editing documents and materials prior to publication; and providing training support for new hires, including volunteers/interns, and monitoring the division’s standards for documentation and administrative processes and procedures

Salary / Pay Rate:Pay: $14.26-$17.48 per hour
Required Skills and Abilities:The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of development and accounting/budgeting principles, procedures and standards; excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication and customer service skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse talent and background; proven leadership skills with the ability to promote teamwork and collaboration; demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills with attention to details and accuracy; superior organizational and project management skills with self-initiative to prioritize multiple projects in order to meet individual and department-related deadlines ; thorough knowledge of office practices, procedures and business writing; ability to maintain a high degree of confidentially; and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook
Qualifications:Candidate will have five+ years’ experience in administrative support at the executive level or equivalent combined experience/education.
