Agency Trainer and Foster Care Recruiter

 

Boys & Girls Aid Join a dynamic, high quality, fast paced nonprofit organization committed to positively impacting the lives of children in need for 125 years.

 

Part-time 35 hours per week with benefits. The training aspects of this position are approximately 20 hours per week, with the recruitment tasks making up the other 15 hours.

 

Training:

 

* Develop, coordinate, and present trainings for potential and current foster parents, well as facilitating the DHS Foundations/Special Needs Adoption trainings.

 

* Ensure evaluation of trainings, including the creation, distribution, and analysis of results/outcomes of trainings offered.

 

* Design and present agency staff trainings as requested and negotiated with Agency Program Supervisors.

 

Recruitment:

 

* Develop a marketing and recruitment plan to connect with potential foster parents and to promote the agency foster care program. * Implement plan through multiple marketing activities which may include visibility campaigns, web and print advertising, networking and community meetings, presentations, media outreach and website development.

 

* Identify, cultivate, solicit, and maintain relationships with community groups, churches, educational institutions, associations and other community entities to ensure visibility for the agency's foster care program. * Coordinate creation and production of high quality, compelling marketing materials in accordance with agency guidelines that inform and educate prospective volunteers. * Receive incoming calls and emails regarding foster care recruitment and conduct follow-up calls to any individual inquiring about this program. Conduct initial screening and meet with viable prospects in one-on-one or group information sessions. * Track all foster care recruitment activities (contacts, visits, presentations, community events) and prospects and results in foster care recruitment Access database.

 

* Conduct information sessions with groups and individuals for prospective foster parents. * Work with the agency Recruitment Team for the overall development, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of a quality recruitment program. Contribute to joint presentations and events and other marketing opportunities.

 

Job Knowledge: Master's degree in related field preferred; or a Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, and 3-5 years of experience working in Social Service with applicable knowledge of the Department of Human Services Child Welfare System. Must have knowledge of adult learning theory and its application in a training setting, and ability to demonstrate competence in delivering trainings/ facilitating groups to adults. Demonstrated understanding or recruiting and/or outreach into the community, specifically to culturally and socio-economically diverse groups.

 

Additional Skills & Abilities: * Must be able to develop high quality materials and use multi-media equipment with little to no assistance. * Must be competent in using relevant computer software programs. * Must be able to track data and evaluate information. * Must be able to develop training materials (written, visual, computer based). * Valid driver's license, personal automobile liability insurance, and acceptable driving record. * Must be able to travel and work evenings and weekends as required.
