POSITION SUMMARY: The Development Intern provides overall support for the OMSI Development Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Update and maintain Raiser’s Edge database of donors and prospects, namely contacts, addresses, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses. • Arrange appointments with donors and prospects for the directors as needed • Assist with renewal mailings of President’s Circle and Corporate Partner membership programs. • Assist with prospect mailings for both President’s Circle and Corporate Partner membership programs. • Assist with correspondence to donors and guests of the annual fundraising gala. • Prepare catering orders and coordinate with appropriate museum departments to facilitate on-site donor and prospect meetings. • Attend and provide assistance at events and meetings as needed. • Assume other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Individual Giving and Corporate Giving Directors.

COMMITMENT: Three months 20 - 30 hours per week

Required Skills and Abilities: REQUIRED SKILLS: • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook. • Advanced letter writing and business communication skills. • Data entry and typing; 10-key a plus.
Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS: • Able to evaluate marketing packets for quality control. • Able to work independently and take initiative. • Dependable and punctual, and able to make a strong commitment to OMSI. • Must maintain a professional appearance. • Willing to follow OMSI rules and procedures.
Education Required:High School or equiv.
