SUN School Homework Club Instructor, Jackson MS 7 hrs/wk during school year. Non-exempt.

Summary: Provides oversight of homework assistance activities during the SUN School Homework Club class, four days a week. Works directly with students and when necessary trains and oversees volunteer tutors to assist students in completing their homework assignments. Maintains a quiet Homework Club environment. Assists with student snack time; records daily attendance; assists with tutoring in SUN Set Tutoring Club; manages student behavior in a way consistent with SUN expectations, and utilizes classroom management techniques to ensure SUN behavioral expectations are followed. Assists with the supervision of transitions between classes, dismissal, and loading the SUN activity bus.

Minimum Qualifications: 1. Associate’s degree in education or related field. 2. One year experience working with youth, preferably in teaching or academic setting. 3. Proficient organizational and disciplinary skills. 4. Ability to assist students in a wide range of academic subjects. 5. Experience and ability to work with students from diverse socio-economic or ethnic backgrounds. 6. Must pass criminal background check as condition of employment.

Salary / Pay Rate:Starting pay range: $12.91-15.50.
