CAUSE - Plastics are a persistent problem in waterways and ending up in the ocean where they have formed five floating continents – the biggest is larger than Texas. Plastics never go away; consumed by zooplankton then other ocean species, they wind up in our food chain. The effects of plastic in our food and water will have on our bodies is unknown. Washington DC and all of California have banned plastic bags, as have many countries including China.

 

GOAL - to raise $10,000 to support Tualatin Riverkeepers’ efforts to ban plastic bags in Oregon during the 2011 legislative session.
