| position summary: | Assist clients dropping in at the computer lab with questions: connecting to the Internet, starting up a Word document, connecting to printers, etc. The Reentry Transition Center (RTC) coordinates reentry services for formerly incarcerated individuals leaving county, state and federal jails and prisons. Established by eight organizations in the fall of 2009, the RTC aims to reduce recidivism, increase public safety, decrease the demand on law enforcement and the judicial system, and lower the skyrocketing costs of incarceration. | Qualifications: | Basic computer knowledge (connecting to and searching websites, using Word documents and email, navigating Windows), experience and interest in working with previously incarcerated clients, open-minded and non-judgmental attitude, patience. |
