Love to teach kids? Then the Outreach Science Educator position is for you! The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) has 1 opening for an Outreach Science Educator, scheduled on a regular, full-time basis. This position is responsible for planning and delivering entertaining and educational science activities to students participating in after-school enrichment programs, presenting OMSI Outreach Science programs in an exciting, positive manner to schools and community organizations, actively participating in the development of new science club curriculum, and preparing and maintaining program supplies and equipment.

Salary / Pay Rate:Pay Range: $23,406 - $28,672 per year.
Required Skills and Abilities:The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal communication, presentation, and customer service skills; ability to present science process and content in an engaging way to a broad age range; ability to work closely with other teachers, developers, and OMSI staff to coordinate materials and information; have an enthusiastic and positive attitude as well as flexibility. They will also have a B.A./B.S. in science, education, or communication, with college course work in science, or equivalent combination of education and experience and must be comfortable working with and presenting to large groups, and a valid driver’s license is required . Minimum 1 year in teaching or equivalent experience preferred, preferably with students grade K-12. Selected candidates will be required to pass a criminal background check, reference checks and requirements in the MVR Policy including passing Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and Alcohol & Drug Test for either non-CDL or CDL Drivers Policy, including pre-duty drug test.
