position summary:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work with families of color and community partners to provide proven-effective parent education programs that focus on improving parent’s ability to talk with their children to motivate them to adopt and maintain health-promoting attitudes and behaviors
• Present comprehensive and culturally appropriate information and facilitate high level and individualized learning sessions on Parent Child Connectedness curriculum, sexuality topics, and Planned Parenthood services to schools, parent and community groups, professional organizations, and churches through public speaking, writing and audio-visual material
• Oversee the development and delivery of family programs in consultation with the communities to address the specific needs of the communities of color
• Review and evaluate sexual health materials for appropriate content, reading level, accuracy of information, effectiveness and cultural relevance.
• Oversee the development of culturally relevant lesson plans, curricula and evaluation material
• Build strategic partnerships in the community to assure program’s goals are met and sustained
• Administer evaluation tools to assess achievement of programs; maintain records of education programs; submit monthly documentation reports of all sessions completed, and provide reports as required by the agency and funders
• Assist the VP of Education in securing funding for the programs
• Assist with development and monitoring of the program’s budget, and assure that the program’s goals are met within budget
• Promote and value aan organizational culture that embraces diversity as a core value

Salary / Pay Rate:$14/HR., PRO-RATED MEDICAL/DENTAL/VISION, 403B PLAN, LIFE/STD/LTD INSURANCE
Required Skills and Abilities:Position requires the ability to gain cooperation through discussion and negotiation. Ability and desire to participate in teamwork is a must. Business letter writing and basic report preparation techniques are required. Must be available to work flexible hours, evenings, and weekends, as needed. Must possess a valid driver’s license and a reliable, fully insured automobile. Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Must be fluent in the Spanish language (reading/writing/translating & speaking/interpreting abilities).
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications: Two years of experience educating youth and adults required, as well as one year of experience involving the adaptation, delivery, and administration of health education programs is required. Preferably the candidate will have experience in sexual and reproductive health education programs. Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining partnerships and collaborations as well as ability to communicate effectively with youth and adults from diverse communities is expected.
