Janus Youth Programs has the following positions available. Janus is a nonprofit agency providing community-based services, including residential and shelter care, to youth referred by OYA and/or DHS, as well as homeless and street-dependent youth. We operate facilities in Oregon and in SW Washington. Services also include alternative education (Lents Education Center) and an Urban Agricultural program. We are an agency that values diversity and values the contributions made by our staff in helping the youth we serve. Full-time Case Manager/Social Services Staff needed to oversee development and implementation of treatment plans and subsequent monitoring and reporting at a residential independent living treatment program for males ages 17-24 who are re-entering the community from close custody juvenile correction institutions. A Bachelor's degree with major area of study in social work, psychology, sociology or a closely allied field and 2 years of experience in the care and rehabilitation of youth OR a Master's degree with major study in social work or closely allied field and 1 year of experience in the care and rehabilitation of youth is required. Case management experience, working knowledge of BRS standards, and experience working with Oregon Youth Authority are preferred. Personal transportation allowing for travel with Portland metro area is preferred. Beginning wage is $12.25/hour plus excellent benefits. Part-Time Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) Family Advocate needed at Insights Teen Parent Program toprovide case management services to teen parents and their children. Services provided include needs assessments, child devleopmental screens and activities, independent living skill building and parent education, employment, education and housing support, and referralto community resources. Fluency in Spanish and English is required. Position requires experience demonstrating knowledge of community resources & ability to scucessfully access needed resources, experience in providing outreach and/or direct services to at-risk adolescents and families, and experience with early childhood and knowledge of child development. Associates (or higher) degree in a social-services related field is preferred. Personal transportation allowing for travel within the Portland metropolitan area is required, as is ability to meet Agency's driving requirements. Position involves visiting various locations and home environments. This is a 20-hour per week position; pay is $14.50/hour with pro-rated benefits. Relief Workers

 

Relief Workers are needed to fill-in for regular staff who are on vacation, ill, attending trainings, or are otherwise unavailable. Currently there is specific need for relief workers at:

 

Imani House Substitute Skills Trainer needed to work on a sporadic, as-needed basis. Position will work as part of a strong, supportive team providing ongoing supervision and care for male adolescents. This position assists in the treatment and supervision of youth in the custody of the Department of Human Services through the provision of individual and group skills training, recording daily observations, targeting treatment goals, and by maintaining a structured living environment in accordance with program expectations. Bachelor's degree or combination of formal education and experience working with children or youth is required. Must pass criminal background check. Buckman House and Buckman Annex, program components within our Transitional Independent Living Services Program, need relief workers (all shifts). This program provides transitional and residential services to young men (ages 17-24) who are re-entering the community from close-custody juvenile institutions or who are transitioning from such a residential program to more independent living. Bachelor's degree in mental health or related field or 2 years related experience preferred. Pay is $9.25/hour. Substitute Teachers needed at Lents Education Center to provide instruction of students in assigned curriculum and foster development of personal and social skills which will improve youths' ability to succeed in completion of their basic education. Bachelor's degree and experience or training in teaching and experience working with youth in at-risk environments or working with youth with a history of not experiencing success within a traditional school environment are preferred.
