Salary / Pay Rate:$17.00 - $20.00/hr depending on experience/qualifications
Required Skills and Abilities:Responsibilities: • Develop and implement coordinated fund raising activities by collaborating with staff, volunteers, board members and the community at large to plan annual appeals, a dinner/auction event, the school to school program, Café Give donations, house parties and other programs as identified. • Continue to foster and grow the school program where it is established while identifying new schools for collaboration by developing a written School to School plan with annual goals, objectives and measurable outcomes. • Present the Africa Bridge story through power point and audio visual programs to community, business, service clubs and potential donor groups with a focus on new donor recruitment. • Identify new programs to increase our donor base and retain current donors while raising the community’s awareness of Africa Bridge’s programs and significant impact. • Develop project and event budgets with input from office staff and adhere to and complete projects within approved funding. • Collaborate with the CEO/Founder and Treasurer in all financial matters by maintaining accurate expense records, following established purchasing procedures, keeping them fully informed of project budgets and balances, obtaining 2 different quotes for purchases exceeding $250 and working with the treasurer and/or accountant in all matters of audit. • Communicate and collaborate with staff in Tanzania by sharing information, working together on projects as required and listening to concerns and recommendations. • Prepare a weekly report for the CEO/Founder regarding work completed, activities, successes, disappointments, what still has to be done and what is planned for the next week. • Participate as an active member of the Marketing Committee and any ancillary committees as assigned. • Maintain up to date, current electronic and paper files in the office that are easily retrievable and accessible. • Participate in intern management as directed by the CEO/Founder. • Coordinate volunteer activities that further fundraising programs. • Coordinate and arrange for staff and volunteer travel to Tanzania.
Qualifications:The Development Coordinator must have: • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as the position include public speaking in the form of presentations about Africa Bridge to various audiences. • The ability to write clear, concise, compelling and interesting narratives. • Strong interpersonal skills. • The ability to meet deadlines, work within a budget and be flexible with changing priorities. • The ability to represent Africa Bridge effectively to the board of directors and other groups interested in the work of the organization. • Experience using computer software such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. • Experience supervising and/or coordinating the work of others including interns, volunteers and contractors.
