position summary:

The outreach and recruitment specialist is responsible for accessing, engaging and securing volunteers to become Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA's). Additionally, this position is responsible for building program awareness and relationships with the community and sharing CASA's need for diverse volunteers.

Salary / Pay Rate:$14.50 per hour totalling $7,540 for 6 month term
Required Skills and Abilities:Creat and implement a community outreach plan, tailoring messages to reach targeted audiences in the Hispanic community in Washington County. Develop a campaign to capture the interest of the Hispanic community-at-large in supporting CASA's goal of increasing the diversity of volunteers serving children. Identify various networks, organizations, faith communities, businesses and other entities within the Hispanic community and build relationships that allow for collaborative efforts to grow and diversify our CASA pool. Participate in the community events to share the need for CASA volunteers and engage members of the community to become prospective CASA's. Collaborate with program staff, CASA partners, and community based organizations to build and hone effective tools and practices in accessing, engaging and securing diverse CASA volunteers. Produce regular reports on community outreach and recruitment results and recommend future initiatives based on program needs.
Qualifications:A proven passion for working with volunteers and children and a commitment to the mission of CASA. 3+ years experience and demonstrated success in community outreach and/or recruitment. Demonstrated success building, managing and growing meaningful relationships with a diverse range of people. Ability to deliver effective speeches and presentations. Effective communication skills, with the ability to connect with people from a variety of backgrounds.
