| position summary: | This position supports Youth Services for the Oregon Trail Chapter of the American Red Cross. The Youth Specialist will collaborate with Diversity Services staff as well as volunteer leadership to establish or develop new and existing partnerships with schools and youth community members, recruit, retain, train, and engage volunteers, conduct presentations and trainings, and coordinate projects accordingly. |

| Qualifications: | - A cooperative, professional manner with the ability to work within a team. - Compassion for working with youth volunteers. - Independence, self-motivation, innovation, and resourcefulness to execute the tasks at hand. - Strong organizational skills. - Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule that may include occasional evenings and weekends. - Strong public speaking skills. - Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to perform basic word processing, internet, email and database tasks. - Capacity to ask questions for clarification and job completion. - Commitment to supporting the Red Cross Mission and the goals of Emergency Services. - Ability to adhere to standards of Red Cross identification and professional attire. - Compliance with Chapter and American Red Cross policies and procedures. |
