PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To assist the program manager in all activities of the Second Home project. Work with home providers in/near the Beaverton School District to explain the process of homesharing and provide a resource for best practices during the process. Perform Second Home project outreach and fundraising. Network with staff from the school district, other agencies, congregations and civic organizations to recruit homes, raise funds and spread awareness of the project
ACCOUNTABILITY: To the mission and goals of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon (EMO) as directed by the Board of Directors and Executive Director of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon.
REPORTS TO: Shared Housing Program Manager
DIRECT REPORTS: None
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Second Home Program Assistant will be responsible for most of the homeprovider intake interviews, congregation and individual inquiries, and ongoing support of homeshares. The Program Assistant will have support from the Program Manager, other staff, staff at partner agencies, and volunteers. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
a.. Direct and indirect client services (including but not limited to: responding to requests for information, providing referrals, conducting interviews).
b.. Community outreach to homeproviders, congregations, faith organizations, businesses, civic organizations, partner agencies and donors.
c.. Continuous improvement of the Second Home program.
d.. Contribute to the development and administration of contributions, grants and contracts as applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS:
a.. Ability to work within the mission and ethics of EMO and maintain and understanding of the services provided by the programs and projects of EMO.
b.. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
c.. Well-developed interpersonal skills.
d.. Embraces diversity in all forms and expressions.
e.. Works productively with clients of all ages, especially high school age.
f.. Able to work independently while maintaining a close relationship with supervisor and co-workers.
g.. Self-starter.
h.. High tolerance for ambiguity and change, good sense of humor is a plus.
i.. Bilingual English/Spanish highly desirable.
WORK HOURS: 5-10 hours per week. Occasional work in evenings and on weekends may be required.
LOCATION: Scattered sites around Beaverton/SW Portland.
SALARY: $12-16/hour, DOE.
BENEFITS: This is a part time position; benefits include prorated holiday pay, prorated vacation and sick leave.
