Join One Billion Rising To End Violence Against Women on V-Day Feb. 14th

One Billion Rising is a Global Call to Action to end violence against women
and girls by coming together, taking a stand, and dancing in solidarity!
According to the UN, one in three women will be raped or beaten in her
lifetime. That's one billion women. One billion women violated is an
atrocity. Through this movement and day of action our community is voicing
its commitment to end violence against women and girls. Globally, there are
more than 5000 actions organized from 160 countries! See

We hope you'll join us as Portland's stands in solidarity with women across
the world who are rising up and demanding an end to violence against women
and girls!

When: Thursday, February 14, 2013 (F14). We Rally @ 3:00pm and we march @
3:30pm

** Gather your friends, family, and co-workers and dress for the weather.
Rain or shine we march & dance!

Where: Gather at Directors Park, 815 SW Park Ave. for a rally, dance and
march through downtown Portland.

After rally and march event: The march will lead to the Pythian building (
918 SW Yamhill) for food, dancing, speakers, workshops, breakout sessions,

This event is in partnership with Idle No More Pdx and the PSU Native
Center hosting dinner and workshop activities at after the march.

Pre-event activities abound: There is signmaking at the PSU Women's
Resource Center at 3pm on Friday 2/8 and this weekend there is a movie
(Miss Representation) practice session for the dance flash mob & sign
making & our final organizing meeting is on Monday 2/11 at 6pm at the
