Ride Connection is a private nonprofit providing transportation to older adults and people with disabilities living in the tri-county area. We are seeking a Community Outreach Specialist to join our team.

An outgoing personality, excellent oral and written communication abilities, strong interpersonal skills, good organizational skills, document design experience, collaborative approach, flexibility and solid computer skills are required.

The Community Outreach Specialist is responsible for supporting Ride Connection and its services by identifying, building, and maintaining successful relationships and partnerships to diverse audiences. The Community Outreach Specialist works cross-departmentally, with service partners, community partners, and with customers to perform marketing, outreach and volunteer recruitment activities. The Community Outreach Specialist works to support service partners within Ride Connection’s network in the development and implementation of effective outreach programs that increase opportunities for visibility and facilitate meeting community need. The Community Outreach Specialist works both independently and as part of a team to support service delivery and manages projects assigned by the Mobility Manager.

Salary / Pay Rate:$3,277.00 monthly
Qualifications:• Strong interpersonal skills with people from a variety of backgrounds and ability levels. • Demonstrated public speaking and presentation skills. • Demonstrated writing skills • Ability to draft marketing materials. • Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends. • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. • Maintain a driving record that meets or exceeds Ride Connection’s driver standards. • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office applications. • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. • Effective listening skills. • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and to make decisions with minimal supervision by prioritizing and organizing tasks. • Ability to exercise good judgment, courtesy, patience, and tact in public contact and in problem resolution. • Must have own personal vehicle and be willing to use personal vehicle for employment purposes. • No criminal history conviction including but not limited to any crimes committed against a person. • Ability to give clear and concise directions, both orally and in writing. • Good organizational skills, ability to handle details and manage multiple priorities within specific timelines. • Ability to work with a diversified community including staff, Ride Connection’s service partners, community and government agencies, volunteers, and riders to design methods for improving communication and efficiency. • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to effectively communicate the mission and purpose of Ride Connection.
