position summary:

To develop and facilitate after school activites. The instructor will be responsible for creating curriculum for one hour classes that meet one to four days a week for eight week periods. He or she will work directly with the SUN Site Manager, school staff, and students. There will be some flexibility involved in planning actitives and developing programs based on the needs of the students and community. Gilbert Park is interested in hiring instructors who want to teach a variety of classes to elementary age children including: Soccer, Tennis, Rock Climbing (we have a wall), Hip Hop Dance or Breakdancing, AKA Science (curriculum provided), Ceramics, Sewing, Art, Drama, Gardening, Homework Help.

The ultimate fit for this position will have ideas for a couple different classes and will also be comfortable tutoring kids and helping with their homework. I am interested in hearing other ideas for classes as well.

Program runs from 3:00-5:30 Monday through Thursday.

Salary / Pay Rate:$13-$15 per hour
Required Skills and Abilities:Ability to commit to a certain number of hours for each eight week period.
Qualifications:Experience in teaching and curriculum development. Experience working with elementary aged kids and classroom management. For more information contact 503-577-2159
