Transformative Social Action Workshop- Hood River Sept. 27

Turning the world around ~ Living Earth Workshop

(We’ll help coordinate car-pooling from the metro area). See www.livingearthgatherings.org for info and registration.

We all know that local and global crises are escalating on every front. And our best efforts at change don’t seem to be getting us where we need to go, not fully enough, far enough, fast enough. Living Earth Circle Workshops offer ways to enrich all the actions we take for peace, justice, beauty, ecological sanity, and balance in the world.

The workshop addresses not only the issues are that are affecting us, but who we are being in response to them. Our social models are designed for reactive, defensive, divisive approaches to action, but our way forward now depends on leaving that approach behind. Cooperative, creative, interdependent, and inclusive models are needed, not as a theory but as a lived reality.

This Living Earth workshop incorporates small-group discussion and whole-circle activities that encourage inner exploration and support creative, non-adversarial approaches to social change.  Our understanding of human possibility grows richer, and we contribute more fully to creating a dynamic, just, and sustainable future where active, creative peace is possible. The workshop invites us to bring an open, awakened heart to all we do in our lives and for the world.

This workshop was developed with input from Joanna Macy, Ram Dass, Richard Heinberg, and Shams Kairys, to encourage creative, cooperative, transformative responses of the immense issues of our day. It offers interactive processes and contemplative practices that enliven our sense of connection and deepen our compassion as we engage. Breathing deeply to re-imagine our possibilities, we increase our ability to bring compassion, creativity, and insight into our actions for the world.

Presentations and workshops can be scheduled for community groups, activist organizations, or faith congregations in any community. Contact Living Earth for further information.
