9/20/08 - "Eyes Wide Open" exhibition on the human cost of the Iraq War

Eyes Wide Open, the American Friends Service Committee's widely-acclaimed exhibition on the human cost of the Iraq War, features a pair of boots honoring each U.S. military casualty, a field of shoes and a Wall of Remembrance to memorialize the Iraqis killed in the conflict, and a multimedia display exploring the history, cost and consequences of the war.

The Eyes Wide Open exhibit was created as a living memorial of the military personnel and civilians killed in Iraq – a stark reminder of the human economic cost of war. The exhibit is based on the conviction that every human life is precious. The exhibition will be held this Saturday the 20th at Holladay Park (NE 11th Ave & Holladay St, Portland, OR 97232). The exhibition will run from 10am - 6pm. Come and take it all in for as long as you wish or can. For more information call Jeff Hunter @ 541-490-6006.
