Title:                           Executive Director

Status:                       Regular, Full time, exempt position

Starting Salary:       $65,000 – 70,000 DOE, plus good benefits

 

Background 

Hollywood Senior Center, founded in 1973, is an independent non-profit community organization whose mission is to promote health, independence and well-being for adults age 55 and older. The Center provides services and activities for all older adults, from healthy to frail, across a full spectrum of interests and needs.

We are a warm, friendly and welcoming place with a current staff of 5 and an annual budget of close to $500,000. We live our mission and we always try to go the extra mile.

The Position

The Hollywood Senior Center is seeking a self-directed and supportive Executive Director with experience and a passion for seniors and senior issues.

Are you a flexible and proven leader with the ability to oversee a strong and vibrant Senior Community Center while working collaboratively with skilled staff to run the organization?

·        Are you community focused with great leadership skills in working with staff and our wide range of volunteers?

·        Do you have passion for, knowledge of and a demonstrated commitment to seniors and senior issues?

·        Are you energetic but able to slow down and work with a wide variety of people?

·        Are you a supportive team player with a proven ability to bring together, train and motivate staff?

·        Can you continue our successful fundraising, effective negotiation with community partners and state agencies to maintain our strong fiscal standing? 

This is a position which requires a wide range of skills, someone with the following experience and characteristics:

·        Successful leadership experience working with and leading a non-profit organization

·        Negotiation skills

·        A proven track record in fundraising and development, including grant writing and cultivating donors

·        Ability to lead and work hand in hand with an effective Board of Directors

·        Great written and oral communication skills

·        Able to connect well to staff, volunteers, donors,  the public, elected officials, City, County and State agencies as well as being the public face of the organization

·        Oversight of all fiscal aspects of a small to medium sized non profit including preparing annual budgets, monitoring expenses and meeting financial goals

·        You bring joyfulness and humor to those with whom you work
