Are you a grandparent or do you want to be?

Portland Impact's SUN program (Schools Uniting Neighborhoods) at Woodlawn School (K-8) is looking for volunteers (ages 55+) to assist with their school programming and let students learn from seasoned adults.

It’s very common for Woodlawn students to not have a grandparent play an active role in their life. The school staff has noticed improvement in the students’ overall socialization and academic performance when they can learn and interact with older adults. Activities include reading to the students, assisting in the library, grading papers and participating in classroom activities.

Location: NE Portland Commitment: 5 hours per week, can be split among volunteers
