Description: Cascade AIDS Project (CAP) is the leading provider of HIV prevention, education, housing, advocacy and support services in Oregon and Southwest Washington. We are seeking an experienced Bilingual - HIV Prevention Specialist to design and implement HIV prevention activities, conduct HIV Counseling and Testing, provide outreach and recruitment into programs and services, assist with staffing CAP’s Men’s Wellness Center, and participate in additional department and agency activities, with a special focus of reaching the Latino gay and bisexual communities. This position reports to the Team Lead of the Men’s Prevention and Wellness Programs.

The following are the minimum qualifications all applicants must meet in order to be considered for the position.   • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience in HIV prevention with gay/bi men
  • Bilingual (Spanish-English speaking)
  • Knowledge of gay and bisexual male communities and HIV disease
  • Demonstrated computer and keyboard proficiency using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook) and working knowledge of the internet including internet chat
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with ethnic, racial, sexual, and diverse populations
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with community stakeholders
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends
  • Previous experience in community organizing or conducting community outreach programs

The following are preferred qualifications and not required to be considered for the position:

  • Previous experience working with HIV disease preferred
  • Previous experience conducting HIV counseling and testing
  • Knowledge of behavioral health models
  • Experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteers

Compensation: 1.0 FTE $27,744 - $37,207 annually, depending on experience; employer-paid health, dental, vision, long-term disability and life insurance; 401(k) retirement plan with generous employer matching contribution, 125C cafeteria savings plan; generous vacation and health leave benefits.
