Looking for a new office space?

Liberty Hall is currently seeking out rent paying organizations for office spaces in our building, located in North Portland at 311 N. Ivy St.  We are seeking to rent to organizations that have a focus on fighting for economic and social justice.  Our facility is a working class organizing center, accessible to the public for rental and day use.

There are currently four rent paying organizations at Liberty Hall; the Portland branch of the Industrial Workers of the World, the Portland Central America Solidarity Committee, the Portland Chapter of the Universal Zulu Nation, and the NW Sweatfree Campaign.  The space is run collectively through a business entity operating as Workers' Education & Resource Center (WERC).  Each non-profit rent paying organization at Liberty Hall is entitled to voice and vote at WERC meetings.  The building is currently operated on a volunteer basis, and we bring in additional income by renting out the space to meetings, events, and shows.

By renting an office space at LH, you will have access to the building's amenities:

- Large meeting hall space, with smaller meeting space downstairs.    - Access to child play area for meetings and events.    - Access to full kitchen.    - Wireless internet.    - Significant green spaces for BBQ's and outdoor meetings.

There are currently two office spaces available for rent:

*Main floor office*: 105 sq/ft., $200/month rent.  Monthly "split" of utility bills is negotiable (Please note: an additional contribution of $50/month in utilities may be charged for the months of November-March, to help supplement heating costs for the building.)  The space for rent is located adjacent to the main entrance of the building.  The office space is split into two rooms, with an inner office with locking door.  There are interior windows that face the main hall area, and an opening exterior window with iron bars.

*Basement (main) office*:  Approx. 180 sq/ft., $300/month rent.  Monthly "split" of utility bills is negotiable (Please note: an additional contribution of $50/month in utilities may be charged for the months of November-March, to help supplement heating costs for the building.)  This is one of two offices in our basement area, adjacent to the kitchen, child play area, and basement meeting room.  The office has windows with iron bars.

Please note that there is an expectation that all rent paying organizations at Liberty Hall be willing and able to contribute volunteer hours and energy to operating the building.  Your organization should be prepared to take on a little extra work to help with booking events, performing maintenance, doing yard work, and coordinating fundraisers for WERC. Both office spaces are available for rental beginning October 1, 2008.
