Neighborhood House Roosevelt SUN School Program Assistant, Roosevelt HS

16 hr/wk during ’08-09 school year

Hourly Range: $11.07-$13.28  

Summary: The Neighborhood House Roosevelt HS SUN School Program Assistant is the primary support for the SUN School Coordinator and daily operation of SUN extended day activities.  The Program Assistant performs significant database entry work and reporting related to program requirements.  Position oversees the flow of SUN activities, 3-7pm, facilitates SUN Partner class logistics and oversees transition times between SUN periods.  Position keeps track of SUN School classes, STEP UP, SES tutoring, and SUN tutoring attendance records on a daily basis.  Position coordinates after-school suppers program, providing meals for 150-200 students each day. Position helps develop program materials, brochures, forms and registration materials.  The Program Assistant participates in Roosevelt SUN School events when necessary.   

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in education or related field preferred; 1 year experience as assistant, preferably in school or youth program; Strong organizational and time management skills; Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; Ability to work effectively with high school youth, parents and diverse clientele (ethnic/racial backgrounds, income levels) in culturally competent manner;

Must pass criminal background check as condition of employment; Must have valid driver’s license and be insurable by agency.
