Youth Forestry & Watershed Project Coordinator

A city park, a playground, or even a heavily-used river bank boat landing are not substitutes for a fragrant, shady forest where the primary sounds are the murmuring brook, a singing thrush, and the howl of a coyote.  Wake Robin Learning Center provides outdoor, structured, learning opportunities that enrich educational programs and promote an understanding of forests for multiple and sustained benefits.  You could be a part of their efforts as a Youth Forestry & Watershed Project Coordinator.

This position supports the forestry instructor and students with the completion of fieldwork, field studies, class assignments, and individual projects. The position also works with the Watershed Voyages Project Coordinator to implement grant-funded efforts to "put conservation on the ground" by providing countywide watershed education including: instruction, organizing materials, project planning, working with local experts, and developing interpretive talks or activities as needed.

Benefits include $1036/month stipend (before taxes), $4725 scholarship, health insurance, training opportunities, loan forbearance & childcare allowance.

This 11-month AmeriCorps position starts ASAP.  Apply today at www.nwserviceacademy.org!
