The Coalition for a Livable Future (CLF) unites over 90 diverse organizations and hundreds of individuals in its mission to protect, restore, and maintain healthy, equitable, and sustainable communities in the greater Portland metropolitan region. Through research, policy advocacy, and public education, CLF works to create and preserve affordable housing; ensure clean water; protect open space, wildlife habitat and farmland; create living wage jobs; provide real transportation choices; and end hunger in our community.

CLF’s Policy Coordinators will primarily support three of the organization’s initiatives: • Equity Action Agenda – Assist with the development and implementation a set of public policy proposals designed to address regional inequities and a strategy for implementing them. • Shift the Balance Campaign – Perform public and coalition outreach and education supporting a campaign to create a sustainable and equitable regional transportation system. Most recent efforts have focused on the Columbia River Crossing and Metro’s update of the Regional Transportation Plan. • Regional Livability Summit – Assist with planning, coordination and outreach for an event that brings together community leaders, advocates, professionals and residents from throughout the greater Portland area to learn about and discuss the challenge of building a more just and equitable metro region.

Responsibilities include organizing and planning events, scheduling and attending meetings, communicating with volunteers and coalition partners, writing and editing materials, website maintenance, and administrative tasks as necessary.
