position summary:

Position Summary Reclaiming Futures, an initiative of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, has created and tested in 10 juvenile courts in the United States a six-part model that improves drug and alcohol treatment for young people in the justice system. To help spread this approach across the country, Reclaiming Futures is hiring a director of grant and partnership development. This new position will play a pivotal role in transforming Reclaiming Futures into a self-sustaining not-for-profit organization by 2012.

Responsibilities include: •Create a four-year business plan to make Reclaiming Futures a self-sustaining organization. •Submit grant applications to public agencies and private foundations. •Establish financial and other partnerships with local, state and federal agencies, non-profit organizations, private foundations, and private or business sectors. •Identify ways to monetize the technical assistance and other services offered by Reclaiming Futures. •Coordinate development efforts with the Reclaiming Futures communications, School of Social Work development director, and central University Development Office. •Supervise a part-time administrative assistant. •Create a partnership acknowledgement system. •Oversee the maintenance of development records. •Regular reporting to the Reclaiming Futures National Program Office director.

Salary / Pay Rate:The starting salary for this position is $40,000 to $48,000 based on half-time work with the potential to increase to a full-time status in the future ($80,000-96,000) depending on available funding. This position includes an excellent benefits package including fully paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependant at any of the Oregon University System schools.
Required Skills and Abilities:Required Minimum Qualifications • 10 to 15 years experience in fundraising, grant writing, partnership development, and revenue generation • Experience in managing multiple projects and working in a fast-paced office. • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. • Independence and initiative. • Creativity and flexibility. • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and achievement in business, not-for-profit organization, or other as related to the responsibilities of the position.
