JANUS YOUTH PROGRAMS, INC. has the following positions available. Janus is a nonprofit agency providing community-based services, including residential and shelter care, to youth referred by OYA and/or DHS, as well as homeless and street-dependent  youth. We operate facilities in Oregon and in SW Washington. We are an agency that values diversity and values the contributions made by our staff in helping the youth we serve.  All positions involve working together with strong, supportive teams to support and make a difference in a young person’s life.

 

Program Supervisor at Harry’s Mother/Garfield needed to supervise shelter services for troubled adolescents.  Duties include recruiting, selection, training and evaluation of staff; and provision of direct crisis intervention, case management and referral services to clients and their families. Position may involve on-line, direct care of program participants and participates in rotational on-call coverage.  Master’s Degree in social work or related field or equivalent education, training & experience is required.  Minimum of 3 years experience working with adolescents which includes at least 2 years in a residential setting working with at-risk youth, crisis and/or case management is a plus.  Prior supervisor experience is required and bi-lingual skills are preferred.  Position does involve driving so personal transportation, valid driver’s license for state of residency, personal auto liability coverage, and a driving record meeting agency driving approval standards is required. Case Manager/Social Services Staff needed to oversee development and implementation of treatment plan and reporting at Buckman House.  The position insures on-site implementation of the services program and provides case management to individual clients.  Bachelor’s degree with major study in social work or a closely allied field and 2 years experience in the care and rehabilitation of youth OR a Master’s degree with major study in social work or closely allied field and 1 year experience in the care and rehab of youth is required.  Experience with case management, BRS standards, and working with Oregon Youth Authority are preferred but not required.  Personal transportation allowing for travel within the Portland metropolitan area in a timely manner is required.  Beginning salary is $2,123.33 per month; excellent benefits.  Submit cover letter and resume to John Weigel, c/o Janus Youth Programs, Inc., 707 NE Couch, Portland, OR 97232 or e-mail to him at [email protected]

 

Relief Coordinator needed to coordinate and provide on-call coverage for Willamette BRIDGE Programs.  Facilities are staffed 24/7 so position requires flexibility in scheduling and availability for weekend, overnight and holiday shifts.  Prior experience working with adolescents is preferred. Beginning pay is $11.00/hour; excellent benefits. Residential Counselors needed at Garfield House to provide direct service and supervision to clients at a 12-bed crisis shelter for runaway and displaced youth.  One position is an overnight position (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday with one weekly afternoon staff meeting) and another position is a part-time weekend position (Friday & Saturday swing shifts; Sunday day shift – 26 hour total). Excellent opportunity to gain experience working with at-risk youth in established agency.  Starting pay is $9.45/hour; excellent benefits (pro-rated for part-time position). Skills Trainers needed at Imani House, a shelter providing evaluation and shelter services for boys, ages 12 to 18. Both overnight and swing shift positions are open. The position is responsible for providing client supervision, assisting in evaluations, and maintaining a structured living environment. A Bachelor’s Degree in a social services or related field OR two years related experience is preferred. Beginning pay is $9.50/hour plus excellent benefits. Relief Workers to fill-in for regular staff who are on vacation, ill, attending trainings, or are otherwise unavailable. Currently there is specific need for relief workers at

v     Buckman House, a residential facility serving emotionally disturbed delinquent males, ages 17-25, who have successfully completed treatment at MacLaren and one of Oregon’s close custody juvenile correction work camps.
