Volunteer Coordinator – Part-time Limited Duration

Multnomah County Library

Multnomah County Library is seeking a .75 FTE (30 hours per week) Limited Duration Volunteer Coordinator to coordinate the volunteer program at Volunteer Services (205 NE Russell). This position will last approximately 18 months up to 2 years. 

Responsibilities include—but are not limited to-- recruiting and selecting volunteers for Central and Neighborhood Libraries:  this includes coordinating the volunteer program recruitment plan for the Library to assure diversity of the volunteer workforce; identifying target groups and establishing timetables for recruitment activities; identifying job duties; developing and writing volunteer job descriptions; reviewing volunteer application forms; screening applicants for suitability; responding to information requests and answering questions for potential volunteers; scheduling and interviewing applicants, conducting reference checks; and placing volunteers.

Salary Range:  $23.16 - $28.47 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience: Two years of responsible volunteer program development and coordination experience.

Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration or a related field.

Reports to: Volunteer Services Manager

Other: Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate and valid driver's license.
