The Lower Columbia River Estuary Partnership seeks a Watershed Programs Coordinator to work as part of a team to carry out the goals of the Estuary Partnership. For information on the Lower Columbia River Estuary Partnership and a full Position Description with salary range see:  www.lcrep.org   General Position Description The Estuary Partnership Watershed Programs Coordinator is a technical specialist who works as part of a professional team to implement aspects of the Estuary Partnership’s science and technical programs. The position focus is on sediment management and working with a large stakeholder group to identify a sediment budget for the lower Columbia River, beneficial uses of sediment dredge material, areas for upland and in-water sediment disposal and other sediment issues. The position will also aid partners with stormwater programs and other Estuary Partnership science and technical projects.   Duties and Responsibilities ·         Works with Technical Programs Manager, other Estuary Partnership staff, and the Estuary Partnership Science Work Group and subcommittees to plan and implement watershed activities related to Estuary Partnership science programs. Specific tasks will entail work with sediment management, watershed planning and recovery of threatened and endangered species, stormwater project planning and implementation, and other Estuary Partnership science program tasks. ·         Builds relationships with the Bonneville Power Administration, NOAA, the US Army Corps of Engineers, lower Columbia River ports, restoration practitioners and other local partners. ·         Works with team to ensure adequate monitoring and evaluation plans for restoration projects.

·         Oversees implementation of projects ensures compliance with applicable laws and rules, including permitting requirements and processes. ·         Disseminates information about program and projects. 

·         Writes scopes of work for potential projects and funding sources. ·         Represents the Estuary Partnership at informational and public meetings on matters related to the Estuary Partnership’s sediment management and stormwater programs

·         Develops and coordinates intra- and inter-organization cooperation through planning, organizing, and scheduling meetings and work sessions with appropriate staff and organizations. 

·         Keeps current on scientific literature related to estuaries, monitoring, restoration, and conservation biology. ·         Provides support to Estuary Partnership Technical Programs Manager’s work with the Estuary Partnership Science Work Group.

·         In an individual or multi-disciplinary scientific area(s), responds to technical questions related to the Estuary Partnership habitat restoration program. 

Minimum Qualifications Two years experience in a scientifically based area. At least one year of the experience must be at a technical position performing activities in a natural resource program relating to habitat conservation and water quality. A Bachelor's degree in field related to water quality, marine sciences, biology or habitat conservation is required.  A Master's degree in a related field is preferred.   Application Submit a cover letter explaining your interest and qualifications, a detailed resume that includes dates, specific duties and responsibilities of previous employment, and three references.
