NorthStar Executive Director

TITLE: Executive Director CLASSIFICATION: Non union REPORTS TO: National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Multnomah Board of Directors SUPERVISES: NorthStar Staff START DATE: Open

NAMI Multnomah is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to serve as Executive Director (ED) for NorthStar, an International Center for Clubhouse Development (ICCD) program for people living with mental illness. NorthStar will be the first ICCD standards-based Clubhouse in Oregon.

An ICCD standards-based Clubhouse is a community intentionally organized to support individuals living with the effects of mental illness. Through participation in a Clubhouse people are given the opportunities to rejoin the worlds of friendships, family, employment, education, and to access the services and supports they may individually need. A Clubhouse is a restorative environment for people who have had their lives drastically disrupted and need the support of others who believe that recovery from mental illness is possible for all.

NAMI Multnomah is the fiscal sponsor for NorthStar. Therefore the ED will report to the NAMI Multnomah Board of Directors, the largest NAMI affiliate in the state. We have multiple well-established programs and an ever-growing group of dedicated volunteers. We have positive long-standing relationships with the county, and expect to increase our membership and community involvement.

Many clubhouse services qualify for Medicaid and/or Vocational Rehabilitation reimbursement.

The NorthStar ED is responsible to the NAMI Multnomah Board of Directors until NorthStar becomes established as its own separate 501(c)(3) organization.
