The AmeriCorps intern will provide environmental education services for the Mid-Columbia River National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) complex, which consists of 8 NWRs. Efforts will be concentrated at Columbia NWR and at the new Environmental Education Center at McNary NWR. Key goals for the position in order of priorities: oversee, coordinate and teach an environmental education program for the Columbia NWR and the annual Sandhill Crane Festival; assist with program development and operation of the new Environmental Education Center at McNary NWR; provide community outreach at special environmental education events.
