Stewardship Partners

Stewardship Partners Program Assistant

Seattle, WA

Stewardship Partners works with landowners in watersheds around the Puget Sound and Washington State to restore and preserve habitat and implement sustainable land management. The intern will work as a member of the Stewardship Partners team in the office and in the field. The majority of time will be spent working on the Snoqualmie Valley Stewardship Program. We have a dedicated work crew of Valley residents, as well as a part-time Washington Conservation Corps (WCC) crew that work on our restoration sites in the Valley. The intern will work with these crews regularly, serving as a liaison between them and the office and assisting with clearing invasives, planting native plants, and maintaining the sites. In addition, the intern will play a major role in project planning and coordination as well as monitoring the success of plantings. The intern will coordinate outreach tabling opportunities at community events and develop educational materials, primarily in support of the Salmon-Safe program. The intern will assist in farm recruitment to the Salmon-Safe program by compiling informational materials to distribute to target farms. The third program that this position will aid in is our work in the Nisqually Watershed, particularly the aspects surrounding sustainable building and low impact development for stormwater management. A small portion of the intern's time will be spent assisting with general office duties to support the overall work of Stewardship Partners.
