Job Opening: Community Relations/External Relations Manager (Part Time)

Position Summary: Purpose of this position is to design, promote and implement strategies to strengthen and maintain the external relations activities for the Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine at Oregon Health and Science University. The incumbent will work directly with the Chair and Vice Chairs to develop and implement a sustainable program to achieve department goals. Incumbent works to garner interest in Department's mission and programs. Through the motivation and utilization of clinical faculty, researchers, and administrators, the incumbent promotes the benefits and importance of the Department to all key external constituencies. Identify and initiate relationships (to include education) with prospective donors . Collaborates with OHSU Foundation Development and SOM personnel to fulfill duties of the position.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in liberal arts, marketing or scientific field. Extensive experience in public relations or community relations. Ability to organize time and priorities to meet the demands of multiple tasks, constituencies and clients, both internal and external. Creative, self-motivating and results-oriented individual desired. Strong sense of ethical conduct. Demonstrated experience in public speaking. Demonstrated skill in and donor cultivation event and steward ship. Experience with multimedia presentations. Ability to engage positively with diverse groups. Demonstrated ability to build relationships with a wide variety of internal and external constituencies. Proven ability to start and complete projects on time and within budget.

Preferred qualifications: Masters Degree and prior not for profit Employment.
