Community Center Project Volunteer

PROJECT PLAN: • Research community centers in the Portland area that offer programs to the public. • Contact those community centers and ask them to distribute OMSI coupons to their visitors in exchange for a table to highlight their programs at an OMSI-hosted event. • Order and mail coupons to community centers with details about tabling event. • Organize set-up for events and serve as the onsite coordinator for the tabling event.

QUALIFICATIONS: • Must be available on event dates. • At least 18 years of age. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Excellent phone skills. • Strong customer service skills. • Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel preferred. • Comfortable with using the internet. • Strong organizational skills. • Self-directed, willing to take initiative, and detail-oriented. • Must present a professional appearance and a friendly manner. • Dependable, punctual, and willing to commit to a regular schedule of 4 hours per week.
