Water Quality Coordinator - AmeriCorps

The River Communities project involves the public in tangible ways to improve water quality in the Columbia Basin including planting rain gardens which conserve water

and filter storm water, adopting and caring for river sections and water quality monitoring for future river restoration projects. These projects depend upon the

interest and participation of volunteers and the AmeriCorps Member will help the project by increasing volunteer involvement in environmental and educational issues.

The primary goal is to engage river communities up and down the Columbia in restoring and protecting the health of their river. The Water Quality Coordinator will help coordinate our volunteer water quality monitoring, adopt-a-river, and riverscape programs (60%); run our summer river temperature and e coli monitoring programs (20%); and help Columbia Riverkeeper with outreach, education, events, and water quality testing including research and testing for nutrients and toxins (20%).
