JAZZ GUITARIST DAVE FRIESEN TO HEADLINE FISH FUNDRAISER

Award winning jazz bass guitarist Dave Friesen will highlight the 3rd annual dinner and silent auction fundraising event to support programs of Fish Emergency Service of Portland.

'Harvesting for the Hungry 2008' is scheduled Saturday, Oct. 25 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1624 NE Hancock Street.

Doors open at 6 p.m.

Funds raised will be used to continue programs to assist families struggling to make money ends meet, according to Gloria Colvin, Fish executive director. Fish programs include food boxes, clothing, personal care items and other social service referrals. Fish Emergency Service has been providing temporary assistance to meet basic human needs for more than 40 years and currently helps an average of 1,660 Oregonians each month.
