The Portland premiere of “Milk”  will occur at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in the heart of the downtown cultural district (1037 SW Broadway). A red carpet, Hollywood-style search lights, and the historic illuminated marquee will set the scene as film industry celebrities, local civic leaders, and Outside In supporters gather to experience “Milk” and celebrate the work of Outside In.  Gus Van Sant will deliver personal remarks to the crowd of 2,700 at 8:30 p.m.

“Milk” tells the story of prominent gay activist and San Francisco city politician Harvey Milk during the years leading up to his assassination in 1978.  His life changed history. His courage changed lives.

Starring Sean Penn, Emile Hirsch, Josh Brolin and James Franco, “Milk" was filmed on location in San Francisco. Many of Mr. Milk's real-life surviving friends and former associates participated in the making of this film, several appearing on camera.

Tickets ($37.75 - $71.75) are available through Ticketmaster or the Portland Center for Performing Arts box office.
