Mini Grants for After School Meal Programs

Thanks to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Oregon Hunger Relief Task Force (OHRTF) is offering small grants to qualifying organizations to expand after school snacks and meals for low-income children.

A limited number of grants up to $500.00 are available for:

-After school programs that are starting to utilize the USDA “At-Risk” Afterschool Meals and Snack Program (ASMSP) for the first time and have start up costs associated with operating a new site(s)

-Eligible start up costs include health inspection fees, equipment purchases such cooling and warming units, tables and chairs, activity and craft supplies, or outreach materials to inform parents and neighborhoods about the new program

To be eligible for a grant your agency or organization must be:

-Located in Clackamas, Multnomah or Washington Counties

- An ASMSP sponsor with an approved application on file with the Oregon Department of Education

Or

-An after school program meal site with a formal agreement to receive snacks and/or meals from an ASMSP sponsor that has an approved application on file with Oregon Department of Education
