POSITION SUMMARY: Attraction Volunteers assist OMSI employees in the OMNIMAX and Planetarium to facilitate ease of transition between shows and ensure an excellent guest experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Take tickets manage lines for attractions. • Make safety and informational announcements. • Assist guests in emergency situations. • Perform in-theater ushering duties, including assisting visitors who need to leave shows early in a dark environment, and enforcing rules (no cell phones or cameras, no crying children, etc.). • Use a radio to communicate with the front desk, presenters, projectionists and ushers.

QUALIFICATIONS: • Must be at least 16 years of age. • Committed to volunteering at least one shift per week. • Proven experience in providing excellent customer service. • Public speaking skills; able to give short speeches before shows regarding safety rules and information about the theaters. • Able to stand and take tickets for periods in excess of 30 minutes. • Able to climb many stairs frequently and assist visitors with climbing stairs in case of emergency. • Able to effectively communicate and answer questions regarding shows, showtimes, and theater rules. • Able to maintain a calm, pleasant, and cheerful demeanor in a variety of atmospheres. • Able to listen and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds and age levels. • Must present a professional appearance. • Dependable and punctual. • Self-directed and willing to take initiative. • Willing to follow OMSI rules and procedures.
