JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Administrative Assistant Program: Administration Supervisor: Executive Director Hours: 20 hours per week, during business hours (9a-5p)

Position summary: This position assists PWCL with administrative tasks related to keeping files, personnel management, office/building management, volunteer recruitment and special tasks as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:Specific responsibilities: • Perform general clerical duties, including but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing • Maintain hard copy and electronic filing system • Open and distribute mail on a daily basis • Act as Agency Representative with PWCL vendors, including health insurance provider • Assist with payroll, new hire paperwork, and other human resource tasks • Monthly invoicing of PWCL contracts • Purchase household and office supplies, managing vendor card and receipts • Maintain office supply list • In collaboration with PWCL Community Organizer, mail out recruitment packets to potential volunteers • Provide administrative support for PWCL Basic Advocacy Training when necessary • Provide administrative support to the Development Program in preparation for PWCL’s annual event • Provide project oversight and coordination to administrative volunteers • Other duties as assigned General Responsibilities – as a member of the PWCL staff, you are expected to assist with the following tasks, as needed: • Attend bi-weekly staff meetings and occasional retreats • Serve as a visible spokesperson and advocate for PWCL’s mission and programs in the community. • Assist with house responsibilities in a team approach • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:Qualifications -- Required • Philosophy compatible with PWCL Mission statement, especially to include – o Experience with and/or knowledge of domestic and sexual violence o Understand oppression and how it supports interpersonal violence o Willingness to learn and be active in the struggle to end domestic and sexual violence. • Knowledge of general office management principles • Ability to handle phone calls in professional manner. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to maintain confidentiality • Ability to work with PWCL staff as a team member • Ability to interact with staff members and volunteers in a friendly, professional manner • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and be proactive; and to prioritize and handle a variety of projects simultaneously • Commitment to building a multi-racial, diverse team • Ability to work with PWCL staff as a team member • Strong computer technology skills, including Microsoft Office and email marketing tools. Ability to learn new technology systems and implement within scope of duties.
Education Required:High School or equiv.
