Development Assistant—Part time (approx. 30 hours/week), Temporary

This is a temporary position running approximately December 8, 2008 through April 30, 2009 while an employee is on medical leave.

Purpose of Position: Be the primary user and knowledge source for the Raiser’s Edge database, provide administrative support to the development department.

Essential Functions: 1. Input daily donations into the Raiser’s Edge database, making sure donations are deposited to the correct fund. 2. Input gift-in-kind donations received by the Library and other departments. 3. Produce thank you letters/receipts for donors in a timely fashion. 4. Establish new records and update current records in the Raiser’s Edge database. 5. Produce mailing lists, donor lists, etc. from Raiser’s Edge. 6. Assist other members of the Development staff in searching for donor information. 7. Prepare donor profiles for the Vice President of Development. 8. Assist with fundraising events by collecting RSVP’s, generating nametags, producing final registration list and other duties as assigned. 9. Produce Marylhurst University tuition credit vouchers as requested. 10. Assist in answering phones and other routine office tasks as assigned.

Required Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities 1. At least intermediate skill in using Raiser’s Edge database software. 2. Minimum of one year experience performing administrative responsibilities. 3. Intermediate skills in Microsoft office suite software. 4. Ability to plan and organize work, as well as ability to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks. 5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to provide information to various departments. 6. Ability to handle confidential material. 7. Ability to work efficiently with numerous interruptions and to work independently with limited supervision.
