Partnership Program Intern

River Network, founded in 1988, is a national, nonprofit river conservation organization based in Portland, Oregon. River Network is a service-providing organization, assisting local, state and regional watershed conservation protection organizations throughout the country. River Network's Partnership Program strengthens the watershed movement by providing information and facilitating communication and celebration among and between River Network Partners and staff. The Partnership Program Intern works closely with the Partnership Program Director and the Partnership Program Coordinator, helping to efficiently accomplish ongoing and time sensitive tasks. The Partnership Program Intern keeps in constant communication with all River Network staff as well as new and interested River Network Partners.

General Resource Management: Collect and catalogue the Partnership Program's files, templates, newsletters and examples. Track, highlight and draft Partner success stories.Database Management: Assist with the update and upkeep of River Network's database, as well as the online National Directory of Watershed Organizations and other data management systems. Provide necessary mailing lists to staff as needed.

Partnership Dues Coordination: Track Partnership payments in database and send appropriate acknowledgement letters and welcome packets. Update Partner email list as needed. Provide monthly reports to staff regarding new (or lapsed) Partners.

Webpage Updates: Oversee, via a customized Drupal Content Management System, River Network's online Resource Library, River Jobs, River Events and other selected priorities.River Rally Coordination: Assist River Network staff with the coordination, implementation and follow-up of the National River Rally (May 29-June 1; Baltimore, MD). Coordinate workshop evaluations, including the collection, compilation and distribution of results.Specific Research Projects: Respond to inquires from Partners and interested Partners; assist in the writing and production of in-house publications and web-based articles/resources.General Office Assistance: As needed, assist with office management duties, mailings and projects. Attend weekly program and staff meetings.

Strong organizational skills Clear communication skills Ability to organize and effectively handle multiple projects, meet regular deadlines with consistency and accuracy, work independently while within a team structure and work under pressure with ease and unfaltering sense of humor Strong work ethic and belief in River Network's mission Commitment to a 12-month positionAbility to work 20 hrs/week; schedule can be flexible.

 

Compensation

This is a 12-month, part-time (20 hours/week) internship position. A stipend of $1000/month is provided. Travel and related costs to attend River Rally 2009 will be covered by River Network.
