The Director of Development and Alumni Relations is responsible for the planning and implementation of a membership program that strategically engages alumni in strengthening the Council and provide tangible benefits to alumni and current members.

Serving as an ambassador, the Director of Development and Alumni Relations is charged with securing financial support and commitments from alumni to provide professional expertise and volunteer service; collaborating with colleagues in the Service Centers (including, but not limited to Membership and Program, Development, Properties and Facilities) and the Council to create and maintain pathways for alumni participation that advance the goals of the Council; partnering with Development colleagues to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward alumni giving; and serving as a liaison between the Alumni Association and leadership of the Council.

Qualifications:Demonstrated 5 year track record in fund development and working in a membership program that strategically engages alumni and meeting campaign goals. Experience in annual giving, special events, grant writing, and major campaign development is desirable. A minimum of five years’ comparable management-level experience is required, as well as demonstrated competency across a broad range of executive and managerial functions including supervision, budgeting, and strategic planning. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work and educational experience. Working knowledge of local funding organizations and foundations is a plus. Willingness to accept the principles of the Girl Scout movement as expressed in the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
