JOB TITLE: ON CALL PRODUCTION STAFF

REPORTS TO: GOVERNMENT AND COMMUNITY PRODUCTIONS MANAGER STATUS: ON-CALL HOURLY HOURLY WAGE: $10 -12 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

Mission:

PCM is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote broad participation in civic and cultural life by encouraging effective use and understanding of community media. PCM has proudly served the local metropolitan area for over 25 years, empowering individuals and organizations with the skills and resources to use the cable television system as a means of communication and community development. PCM’s purpose can best be described with three words – Educate, Communicate, Participate.

Description:

Be a part of Portland Community Media’s On-Call Production team, to cover gavel to gavel coverage of the Portland City Council, Metro Council and various government meetings. Programs produced are cablecast on CityNet 30 the local channel that is dedicated to Portland public affairs.

Qualifications:

Demonstrated proficiency with small format video equipment and a clear understanding of basic television production Possess organizational, planning, and technical skills necessary to develop high quality television programming Able to function effectively under pressure and capable of working as a team member or independently with minimal supervision

·        Experience in customer service and media training.

·        Proficiency with both Linear and Non Linear editing systems.

·        Ability to communicate effectively across differences in age, class, and ethnicity.

·        Must have flexible schedule for early morning, late evenings or weekend productions
