Be a "Big Brother or Sister For A Day" on MLK Day

Instead of taking a day off on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, be a Big Brother or Big Sister for a “day on” of service and celebrate the life of Dr. King! "Bigs," or adult volunteers, will be paired with a Little Brother or Little Sister from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., giving both the Big and the Little a glimpse of the mentoring experience. Bigs and Littles will have the chance to connect at the Barbur Blvd. YMCA while enjoying a pizza lunch, playing various games together, and viewing a puppet show on diversity performed by the puppeteering group Kids on the Block.

No special skills are required to volunteer. This is a perfect activity if you've ever been curious about mentoring. To RSVP, sign up via the Hands On Greater Portland website at handsonportland.org or contact Lee Magner at [email protected] .
