Learn Mediation Skills

Basic Mediation training is a five-week course that covers 40 hours of listening, communication and conflict resolution skills. For those interested in volunteering, the training is followed by a one-year apprenticeship to provide mediation services to local residents experiencing conflict.

Training Schedule: Wednesdays 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. February 25 through March 25; and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 27; Saturday, March 7; Friday, March 13; and Saturday, March 21. Gresham City Hall, 1333 N. W. Eastman Parkway.

Cost Options: 1) Full cost: $550; 2) Community leaders who will bring these skills to their community pay a reduced fee of $250; and 3) Up to six individuals who are willing to volunteer at East Metro Mediation for two hours each week for one year will receive a reduced fee of $50. Two full scholarships are also available for volunteers.
