TITLE: Administrative Programs Coordinator/Financial Aid Officer

HOURS/SALARY: 35 hours/week, $14/hour dependent on experience. Raise after 90 days, dependent on performance.

LOCATION: Outer SE Portland

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or Equivalent/ Baccalaureate degree preferred

Type minimum 40wpm

Computer skills: Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet fluency, Learn new programs easily

Communication & Interpersonal skills:

-- Interact with public and coworkers with sensitivity, clarity, & efficiency

-- Acknowledge evaluation and respond appropriately

-- Communicate clearly and extensively in writing, by telephone, by e-mail, and in person

Organizational skills. Ability to:

-- Learn and remember complex rules and regulations and communicate these to others

Completion of Department of Education financial aid administrator training (may be completed after hire)

Familiarity with midwifery a benefit

JOB DESCRIPTION:

-- Management of financial aid program, including veteran’s benefits and Americorps, for entire college (under 100 students per year). Duties include but aren’t limited to: advising students and potential students, verifying applicant data, awarding aid, disbursing aid, submitting annual FISAP, coordinating federal reporting (Annual Security Report, IPEDS survey, etc.) and ensuring federal requirements are met (voter registration, Student Right-to-Know, Drug Free Schools and Campuses, etc), calculating annual Cost of Attendance budgets, and maintaining financial aid records.

-- Coordinate revision of college’s Policy and Procedures manual, annual Catalog and Student Handbook, and Information Booklet. This includes assisting other staff with their corrections as necessary.

-- Coordinate institutional compliance with outside agency requirements (state, federal, accreditor, etc.), including accreditation/state renewal applications, annual reports, and other required processes.

-- Other duties as assigned by the college president.
